Through its Automation Committee, the Association identified a need for, and developed the Money Market Terminal, a screen-based, straight-through-processing platform for dealing and settling money market securities.

The platform enables the members of the money market and other stakeholders to achieve the following:

• Seal deals (trade) electronically, via a secure network
• Tie settlement of transactions via NIBSS or the CBN Discount office.
• Achieve integration with the disparate back office systems currently present in banks, so that all trade processes will be captured accurately and performed in a timely fashion.
• Eliminate problems currently associated with non-electronic dealing.
